Doomed 2D Shooter
This is my 2D Shooter Project.
Modifications:
0) I took the opportunity to modify most everything. I will summarize the major types of modifications in the items below.
1) Scripts: I created a new script to add new functionality to the project. I also modified several other scripts that were in the original in-class materials.
2) Levels: The game has 3 distinct levels with different artwork, sounds, etc that are different than the in-class examples.
3) Artwork: I added a whole new look and feel to the game. This included replacing almost all of the artwork from the in-class materials. I did keep some of the in-class art which will be familiar when other students see it. Most of the artwork, however, is new and is made up of original, modified, or others graphics. The graphics that others created was used in accordance with their licenses or stated use rules.
4) Sounds: I replace almost all of the sounds in the game as the in-class materials didn't work with the new game. I am not a musician so I found the appropriate music and utilized it either directly or modified somewhat. I used the sounds that others created in accordance with their licenses or stated use rules.
5) Characters and Weapons: I used all new characters (player and enemies) with animations. I used all new weapons (guns) with animations and effects.
6) Instructions: I actually added game play instructions as these were not present in the in-class example.
7) Boundaries: The in-class example had hard-boundaries you could not cross. In my game the player and enemies can move beyond the boundaries to continue the fight. However, the 'projectiles' fired by the guns do interact with the boundary so you can't just leave the boundary and shoot the enemies inside the boundary. A goal of the game is to get good enough to beat all 3 levels without having to take the fight to space to just duel it out with the chasers!
